Questions families ask us

Choosing home care is a big decision. Here are honest answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, give us a call.

What does non-medical home care include?

Non-medical home care covers help with daily living: personal care such as bathing and dressing, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, medication reminders and respite for family caregivers.

What doesn't non-medical home care include?

Our caregivers don't provide skilled nursing or medical services, such as giving injections, wound care, managing IV lines or administering medications. If your loved one needs skilled care, we're happy to work alongside their home health or medical team.

Which areas do you serve?

We serve Prince William, Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Northern Virginia, based in Woodbridge. Contact us to confirm availability at your address.

How does care get started?

Start by calling us or sending a Request Care form. We'll talk with you about your needs, arrange an assessment, and agree on a written service agreement and care plan before services begin.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Visit lengths and any minimum hours are explained during your consultation and written into your service agreement, so you know exactly what to expect.

How much does home care cost, and how do I pay?

Rates depend on the type of care and the schedule. We'll share our rates in writing before services begin. You'll receive itemized invoices showing service dates, hours and rates. Accepted payment methods are explained in your service agreement.

How do you screen your caregivers?

Every caregiver goes through an application and interview, reference checks, a criminal background check and credential verification where the role requires it, followed by orientation and training before working with clients.

Can we meet the caregiver first?

Yes. We match caregivers based on needs, personality and schedule, and we're happy to arrange an introduction before care starts. If the match isn't right, let us know.

What if I have a concern or complaint?

Please tell us. You can call, email or write to us at any time, and you won't be treated differently for raising a concern. Our complaint procedure is explained on the For Clients & Families page.

What should I do in an emergency?

Call 911 first. We provide non-medical home care and are not an emergency service. Once everyone is safe, please let our office know.

Still have questions?

We're happy to talk it through, with no pressure and no obligation.
